A couple more challenges done

I have combined this card for both the Forever Friends Challenge, which is a lovely sketch by Emma and the Allsorts Challenge which has been set by my good blog buddy Jules, the theme for this one is 'Bring out your Bling'.

SONG TITLE/LYRICS

This weeks challenge is to base your project on a song title or lyrics, mine is Umbrella by Rihanna.

Also, another little bag I made, my daughter Victoria has already taken this one for her own, so I'll have to make another.

The weather here today is awful, I'll have to brave it down to the chickens in a minute to see what eggs they've laid but then I think it's a case of snuggle up in the craft room with my new Calor fire and my two doggies and maybe a film on the pc - bliss!!!

A First

My good friend Dorothy recently gave me a Cath Kidston book. complete with patterns and a ready cut out bag to sew. I have had my sewing machine for more years than I care to remember and finally made myself sit down and use it. Instead of starting out on the actual piece I had a play on some scraps of fabric to get all the tensions etc. right and after a mornings work this is what I made. I have been thinking for some time to get into sewing crafts as well as papercrafting and I think that my new book and patterns will see me well on the way to achieving this.

I have used a technique I saw on Create and Craft yesterday, using Impressabilities which I inked up with Versamark, impressed through my cuttlebug and then tinted using a Perfect Pearls type medium.

More Good News

I can't believe it, I won last weeks Penny Black challenge and will now have no excuse for mucky stamps as the prize was a Stamping Up Scrub pad, so excited, always wanted some stamping up goodies and what better place to start.

Good News at Last

Just had a phone call offering me a job as Manager of a local shop. I am so excited to be joining the workforce once again, it will make life so much better for us. It's only 3 days a week but that suits me fine as it means I will still have time to keep things going home here with the chooks and the dogs and leaves me time for household things so they don't encroach on our time together. I will probably have to give up my Saturdays at home but I think Mick will enjoy some time here on his own to enjoy the house without me nagging. My lovely brother in law and sister have agreed to come in on the days I work to see to the dogs and the chickens and I will have money for crafting goodies again, as well as more sensible things of course!

My goodness I haven't taken part in this challenge for months, this weeks sketch looked fun and I wanted to use my new My Mind's Eye papers.
